gift flick has emerged as one of the top brands at this year’s Finder Innovation Awards, picking up a Highly Commended gong for Best Retail Innovation.
The awards celebrate Australian businesses that have developed innovative products, services or solutions across a range of industries including banking, insurance and retail.
2023 was a bumper year, with approximately 200 entrants vying for an award.
In the hotly contested Best Retail Innovation category, gift flick was singled out by judges for solving an age-old shopping problem – how to circumvent delivery deadlines when purchasing physical gifts.
Australian retailers often miss out on sales due to the reality of shipping times.
For example, Christmas shoppers will habitually avoid online stores that cannot guarantee delivery before 25 December.
gift flick solves this problem by allowing customers to digitally “wrap” their gifts during the checkout process. The personalised videos can then be shared with the recipient, allowing them to see the gift before it arrives in the mail.
In addition to last-minute shoppers, the service is also well suited to gift givers who cannot meet their loved ones in person for whatever reason.
gift flick is currently offered as an ecommerce plug-in. Its partners include Country Road, David Jones, Kitchen Warehouse, & Endota Spa.
In 2023, consumer engagement with gift flick surged by a whopping 357% year-over-year.
Judges said: “gift flick eliminates shipping deadlines, which is not just good for customers but also retailers who may have otherwise missed out on a sale.”
“The simple plug-in has been well received by consumers and retailers alike, as evidenced by its impressive growth.”
